Baskets

Basket weaving is a traditional skill passed down through the generations and the designs and patterns represent elements of nature and African style. The AfriBeads basket weavers collect the banana stem and buy the raffia in the local market. They use a traditional coiled weaving technique incorporating the different coloured raffia into the patterns.

Jewelry

AfriBeads jewellery represents ethical style. Each bead is individually created from a triangle of paper discarded from local printing businesses in the centre of Kampala. The triangles are rolled up then lacquered, before being created into unique designs.

Fabric products

Brightly coloured African fabric is used to make the fold up shopping bags, produce bags, wax wraps and aprons.
