Each bead is individually crafted out of a triangle of paper by an artisan in Uganda.
The recycled paper is bought from a local market in Kampala. The paper is discarded from nearby local printing businesses.
The paper is cut into triangles on a guillotine. It is a careful process. The shape of the triangle determines the shape of the bead. These triangles are rolled from the wide end to the narrow tip creating a bead. The beads are then lacquered 3 times.
These hand-made beads are then carefully assembled into a beautiful range of jewellery.
